Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary Prakash Karat on November 7 urged the central government to withdraw the new ordinance over sugarcane pricing policy, saying it will severely affect sugarcane farmers. Many farmers are setting ablaze their crops and some even trying to immolate themselves, as the stir continues.
