New Delhi, Oct 19 2007 : The Indian Railways have generated Rs 21,447.27 crore of revenue during first six months of the current fiscal year, as compared to Rs 19,537.53 crore in the corresponding period last year. The Railways registered an increase of 9.77 per cent. Railways carried 369.66 million tonnes of freight traffic during April-August this year as compared to 344.57 million tonnes carried during the corresponding period last year, reflecting an increase of 7.28 per cent.
